How are words counted?
Words are counted by splitting each sentence on spaces, so hyphenated words count as one and numbers count as words. This matches the way most word processors report a word count.
How is the text split into sentences?
The tool uses natural-language sentence detection, so full stops in abbreviations and decimals don't wrongly break a sentence. Each detected sentence appears as its own row with its word and character counts.
Is there a limit and is my text stored?
You can analyse up to 25,000 characters at a time. Text is sent to our server only to perform the analysis and is not stored or logged.
