How the ISA allowance tracker works
Enter what you've contributed this tax year to each of your ISAs — Cash ISA, Stocks & Shares ISA, Lifetime ISA and Innovative Finance ISA. The tracker adds them up and shows your total against the £20,000 combined annual allowance, how much you have left to use, and how many days remain until the tax year ends on 5 April.
It also checks your Lifetime ISA contribution against its own £4,000 annual sub-limit, since LISA contributions above that amount don't qualify for the 25% government bonus even though they still count towards your overall £20,000 allowance.

Frequently asked questions
What is the ISA allowance for this tax year?
The combined annual ISA allowance is £20,000. You can split it across Cash, Stocks & Shares, Lifetime and Innovative Finance ISAs in any combination, but the total across all of them can't exceed £20,000 in a single tax year.
Can I pay into more than one ISA in the same tax year?
Yes. Since April 2024, you can pay into multiple ISAs of the same type as well as different types, as long as your total contributions across all of them stay within the £20,000 combined allowance.
What is the Lifetime ISA limit?
You can pay up to £4,000 a year into a Lifetime ISA, and this counts towards your overall £20,000 allowance. The government adds a 25% bonus on top, up to a maximum of £1,000 a year — but only on contributions within the £4,000 limit.
What happens if I go over my ISA allowance?
If you contribute more than £20,000 across your ISAs in a tax year, HMRC can treat the excess as an invalid subscription and may ask you to remove it or adjust your tax position. Keep track of contributions across all your providers so you don't accidentally go over.
When does my ISA allowance reset?
The UK tax year runs from 6 April to 5 April the following year. Your allowance resets to £20,000 on 6 April, and any unused allowance from the previous tax year is lost — it doesn't carry forward.
