How the coffee cloud works
Tell us where you had your last coffee in the UK: the shop's name and address, and the price you paid. Every entry is added to a live word cloud. The bigger a coffee shop's name, the more people have logged it, and the colour shows the average price paid there, from green (cheaper) to orange (pricier).
Only each shop's name, the number of entries and the average price are shown.
Frequently asked questions
What do I need to enter?
The name and address of the coffee shop where you had your last coffee, and the price you paid in pounds. Every field is required.
How is the average price worked out?
It is the mean of every price logged for that coffee shop name, across all of its branches, rounded to the nearest penny. Capitalisation, accents and punctuation are ignored when matching names, so Caffè Nero and CAFFE NERO count as the same shop, but different names such as Costa and Costa Coffee are counted separately.
Are these official coffee prices?
No. They are crowd-sourced, unverified prices that visitors say they paid, possibly for more than one drink, so treat them as a rough guide rather than official figures.
